ABOUT THREE BUOYS

Three people. One boat. A shared love of being on the water.

Three Buoys Tackle & Supply grew from something much simpler than a business plan. It started with a father and his two sons spending time together fishing.

WHO WE ARE

Ronnie, Mason and Vincent

We're Ronnie, Mason and Vincent — the three behind Three Buoys. Over the years, fishing became one of the ways we explored new water, learned together and made memories as a family. From ponds and creek banks to the Susquehanna River, the Susquehanna Flats and the Upper Chesapeake Bay, the more time we spent fishing, the more interested we became in everything that goes into doing it well.

Eventually, that shared connection to the water gave a name to our family boat: Three Buoys. And from there, the idea grew into something bigger.

WHAT WE'RE FOR

More time fishing. Less time figuring it out.

We're based in Cecil County, Maryland, with our roots in the Upper Chesapeake and surrounding Mid-Atlantic fisheries. That regional connection matters to us because we don't believe every angler needs thousands of random choices. We believe they need the right choices.

One of the reasons Three Buoys exists is to make fishing a little easier to enjoy. There's a lot to figure out — especially when you're taking your kids fishing, trying a new species or body of water, getting back into the sport, or simply trying something different.

  • Where should you fish?
  • What rig should you use?
  • What size hook?
  • Which bait or lure, and how do you rig it?

And which of the hundreds of products available actually makes sense for what you're trying to do? We want to help take some of that guesswork out of the experience.

Whether it's a family making memories together, friends spending a day on the water, or someone discovering fishing for the first time, our goal is to help people spend less time searching for answers and more time enjoying why they went fishing in the first place.

And Three Buoys isn't only for new anglers. Experienced anglers should be able to come here and find proven brands they already know and trust, tackle selected with our regional fisheries in mind, useful information and resources, and perhaps discover a brand or product they haven't considered before.

You don't need every product. You need the right information and the right options for the fishing you want to do.

HOW WE CHOOSE

Curated for the water you fish.

That's more than a tagline for us. Three Buoys is being built around a curated approach to tackle — choosing products based on how well they fit the species, waters, techniques, seasons and conditions our customers actually fish.

Our process draws from multiple sources:

Established product reputation
Manufacturer information
Credible angler & customer feedback
Regional applicability
Technical research
Hands-on, on-the-water evaluation where possible

Some of the brands we carry will be familiar names with long-established reputations. Others may be products or manufacturers anglers haven't encountered before. We're open to both. What matters is whether we believe a product offers genuine value and has a legitimate place in the fisheries we serve — not simply whether the name is familiar or whether we can add another SKU to the website.

HOW WE TALK ABOUT GEAR

Research first. Claims second.

As Three Buoys has developed, we've been fortunate to build relationships with experienced people throughout the fishing and tackle industry — including manufacturers, engineers, suppliers and brand representatives with decades of experience in tackle design, manufacturing, product development and distribution. Those relationships have given us access to knowledge and resources we wouldn't have had on our own, and we intend to use them responsibly.

We research. We ask questions. We compare specifications. We study how and where products are intended to be used. We listen to anglers with real experience. And when we have the opportunity, we evaluate products ourselves.

Just as importantly, we believe in being clear about the difference between manufacturer information, outside expertise and something we've personally tested or experienced.

We'd rather explain why we believe something belongs in the store than simply tell you it's the best.

WHAT WE'RE BUILDING

More than a tackle store.

We want Three Buoys to become a place anglers can use whether they're buying something that day or simply trying to figure something out.

We're building resources around local waters, species, conditions, techniques, rigging, knots, tackle selection, trip planning and the experiences of the fishing community — connecting that information naturally to products when it makes sense.

Our goal isn't to make every visit about making a sale. It's to build something useful enough that anglers have a reason to come back. If we can help someone learn a new rig, better understand the water they're fishing, discover a useful product, plan a day with their kids or friends, or simply answer a question that gets them on the water with a little more confidence, then Three Buoys is doing what we built it to do.

OUR OWN GEAR

Building our own — when there's a reason to.

We're also exploring the development of our own fishing equipment, but we don't believe putting the Three Buoys name on something automatically makes it worth selling.

We've been fortunate to develop relationships with experienced engineering and manufacturing resources that allow us to approach product development thoughtfully — defining what a product is supposed to accomplish, working through materials and components, building prototypes, evaluating them and making changes based on what we learn.

If a product eventually carries the Three Buoys name, we want to be able to explain why it exists, how it was developed and why we believe it deserves a place in an angler's hands.

ON THE WATER

The three of us, over the years.

Different water, different fish, a lot of the same three people. A few from the years of learning this together.

Swipe, scroll, or use the arrows — 26 from the years on the water.

STILL ROOTED IN WHERE IT STARTED

Three Buoys may grow into a larger tackle store, fishing resource, community and product-development brand. But we don't want to lose what started it.

A father.
Two sons.
A boat named Three Buoys.

And a lot of time spent together on the water.

That's Three Buoys Tackle & Supply.

Curated for the water you fish.
